COURT ORDERS ARREST OF OKOROCHA, ARARAUME OVER ALLEGED FORGERY

A Senior Magistrate’s Court sitting at Jiwa in Abuja has issued bench warrants for the arrest of former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, former Senator Ifeanyi Araraume and two other persons over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and the use of false documents.

The other persons named in the warrants are Timothy Ama Chuks and Amen Okorocha.

According to court-related reports, the warrants authorise police officers across the country to arrest the four individuals and produce them before Senior Magistrate Court 3, Jiwa, Abuja.

The matter, involving the Inspector-General of Police and the four persons, is registered under case numbers CR/M/JW/084/2026 and CR/M/JW/085/2026.

The development is connected to a dispute over the authentic results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Imo West, also known as the Orlu zone.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has reportedly asked the police and the Department of State Services to investigate documents allegedly being circulated by Okorocha, which purportedly show that he won the party’s primary.

INEC reportedly disowned the disputed documents, maintaining that the results submitted to the commission by the APC identified Governor Hope Uzodimma as the winner of the primary.

The commission also urged the relevant security agencies to investigate the matter, expressing concern about the possible consequences of circulating disputed election documents.

The allegations remain subject to judicial determination. The issuance of an arrest warrant does not establish the guilt of the persons named in it.

The case highlights the potential legal consequences of disputes over party primaries and the documentation submitted to electoral authorities.
