Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, , has called on religious organisations across the country to continue praying for troops battling terrorism, banditry, and other forms of insecurity, saying such spiritual support boosts the morale of security personnel on the frontlines.
The Minister made the appeal while receiving the General Overseer of , , during a courtesy visit to his office in Abuja.
General Musa stressed the importance of moral support, prayers, and national unity in strengthening the resolve of the Armed Forces in the ongoing fight against insecurity across the country.
According to him, success in the battle against terrorism and violent crimes requires the collective support of all segments of society, particularly faith-based organisations.
He described prayers and encouragement from religious groups as vital ingredients in sustaining the commitment and fighting spirit of troops deployed across various theatres of operation nationwide.

The Defence Minister commended Pastor Muoka and members of The Lord’s Chosen for their continuous prayers and support for the nation’s security agencies.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Armed Forces to defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting the lives and property of citizens, while also urging religious leaders to continue promoting peace, unity, patriotism, and national cohesion.
General Musa further noted that faith-based organisations play a strategic role in fostering harmony and supporting national security initiatives.
Earlier in his remarks, Pastor Muoka assured the Minister that the church would continue to support both the Armed Forces and the Federal Government in efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability across the country.

The cleric also offered prayers for President , asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, good health, and the capacity to lead the nation towards greater peace, stability, and economic prosperity.
Pastor Muoka equally prayed for divine protection and victory for soldiers fighting on the frontlines, as well as enduring peace in Nigeria.
At the end of the visit, both parties exchanged souvenirs and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that promote national security, peace, and unity.
