A coordinated security operation in Bauchi State has resulted in the arrest of five suspected kidnappers and the rescue of two victims abducted from their home in Alkaleri Local Government Area.
The victims, a woman and her adult son, were reportedly kidnapped after armed men invaded their residence in Kwarin Gadali community, sparking panic among residents and prompting an immediate response from security agencies.
Following the incident, police operatives, military personnel and local vigilante groups launched an intensive manhunt, relying on intelligence gathered from the area to track the suspects and identify their hideouts.
The operation led to the arrest of five individuals believed to be members of the kidnapping gang. Information obtained from the suspects reportedly assisted security operatives in locating the victims and securing their release.
The mother and son were rescued alive and taken for medical evaluation before being reunited with their family.
Authorities said both victims are recovering from the ordeal.
Police described the operation as a significant breakthrough in efforts to curb kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state, adding that investigations are ongoing to determine whether the suspects are linked to other criminal activities within Bauchi and neighbouring states.

The suspects remain in custody and are expected to face prosecution upon the conclusion of investigations, while security agencies continue the search for other members of the gang still at large.
The development comes amid intensified efforts by law enforcement authorities to dismantle kidnapping networks across northern Nigeria. Police have urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support the fight against kidnapping and related crimes.
