The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, has declared that the FCT Administration is fully prepared to commence the commissioning of more than 30 completed projects across Abuja, describing the developments as evidence of the dividends of democracy and the implementation of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Wike made the declaration on Thursday after inspecting several key infrastructure projects slated for inauguration, expressing satisfaction with both the quality of work and the level of completion achieved.
According to the minister, all the projects inspected were fully completed and ready for commissioning.
“From what we have seen, we are set to go. I can say all the projects we inspected are one hundred per cent ready. I am very happy with the quality of the job,” he said.
Projects inspected include the Gwarinpa-Jahi Interchange, the Airport-Kuje Road, the Kuje-Gwagwalada Road, the Outer Southern Expressway main carriageways and the redesigned Abuja City Gate.
Speaking on the City Gate project, Wike disclosed that its inauguration may be held at night to allow residents and visitors appreciate its enhanced aesthetics and visual appeal.
“This is governance in action, and you can see the dividends of democracy. You can see the Renewed Hope working,” he added.

The minister also invited members of the media to participate in the commissioning ceremonies and help showcase ongoing infrastructural transformation in the Federal Capital Territory.
Wike further revealed that the number of projects to be flagged off during the commissioning period had increased from two to four, noting that the administration was not only completing projects but also initiating new ones.
He explained that while President Tinubu would personally commission some of the projects, other senior government officials would inaugurate the remaining ones due to the large number of projects involved.
The minister also hinted that newly constructed police stations across the six Area Councils and renovated public schools could be included in the commissioning programme, adding that some responsibilities may be delegated to Mandate Secretaries of the FCT Administration.
Commenting on political developments in Rivers State, Wike urged political actors to wait for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish candidates before drawing conclusions on reports surrounding political coalitions.

He also expressed concern over recent security incidents, including the abduction of schoolchildren, sympathising with victims while cautioning against politicising security challenges.
The inspection tour highlighted the administration’s readiness for what is expected to be one of the largest project commissioning exercises in the history of the Federal Capital Territory.
