Besiktas Complete €18m Signing of Arsenal’s Trossard

Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas have completed the signing of Belgian international Leandro Trossard from Arsenal in a deal worth €18 million, bringing an end to the winger’s three-and-a-half-year stay at the North London club.

The 31-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Turkish club, with an option to extend for a further year. Besiktas said the transfer fee would be paid to Arsenal in six instalments over a three-year period.

Trossard joined Arsenal from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2023 and went on to make 174 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions, scoring 36 goals and establishing himself as one of the club’s most reliable attacking players.

During the 2025/26 campaign, the Belgian forward contributed six goals and six assists in the Premier League, helping Arsenal secure their first English league title in 22 years. His versatility across the front line earned him praise from both teammates and supporters.

Arsenal granted the player permission to travel to Istanbul for his medical after reaching an agreement with Besiktas. The move is expected to create room for the Premier League champions to strengthen other areas of the squad during the summer transfer window.

At international level, Trossard has earned 57 caps for Belgium, scoring 14 goals and representing his country at four major international tournaments. His experience is expected to bolster Besiktas as the club prepares for the new domestic season and European competition.

The transfer represents one of the biggest moves in Turkish football this summer and marks the beginning of a new chapter in Trossard’s career as Besiktas continue to strengthen their squad in pursuit of domestic and continental success.
