President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” and praising her for standing by him through difficult moments.
In a personal message released by the State House on Monday, Tinubu said Oluremi had supported him with patience, grace and courage throughout their years together, adding that she often provided counsel even before he asked for it.
The President cited a Yoruba proverb, “Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀,” meaning “a good wife is her husband’s crown,” saying Oluremi had given the saying meaning through her support, honesty and devotion to their family.
Tinubu also highlighted his wife’s humanitarian activities, recalling her work through the New Era Foundation during their years in Lagos and her current activities under the Renewed Hope Initiative.
He said her interventions had touched young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers, while also drawing attention to her advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases.
According to the President, Oluremi’s compassion has not been limited by tribe, region or religion, describing her as someone who has quietly supported people in need.

Reflecting on their marriage, Tinubu said their long journey together had involved difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayer. He added that her presence had often provided reassurance during uncertain periods.
“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you,” the President said, adding that his heart had remained at home with her throughout their journey.
Tinubu thanked the First Lady for the life they had built together and prayed that God would grant her many more years in good health and joy.
