The Lagos State Government has scheduled fresh rehabilitation work on sections of the Eti-Osa/Lekki-Epe Expressway, raising expectations of possible traffic disruptions along one of the state’s busiest transport corridors.

The repair programme covers the Bonny Camp-Admiralty Way Junction stretch, as well as sections around the Victoria Garden City axis.

Project director Ibironke Olukoko announced the schedule at a stakeholders’ meeting on October 13, according to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria.

The project has been divided into two phases and awarded to China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation.
The affected road serves commuters travelling between Lekki, Ajah and Epe, as well as residents, businesses and commercial transport operators who depend on the corridor daily.

The government has appealed for public cooperation during the rehabilitation exercise, which forms part of efforts to improve road conditions and facilitate movement.

However, motorists will need clear information about diversion routes, work schedules and alternative roads to minimise delays and avoid unnecessary congestion.

The development is particularly significant for residents who rely on the expressway for their daily journeys to workplaces, schools and commercial centres.

Motorists have been advised to monitor official traffic announcements for confirmed information on the implementation of the repairs and any temporary traffic arrangements.
