RISING PRE-ELECTION VIOLENCE AND RHETORIC – NGO RAISES ALARM.

Zarephath Aid, a Criminal Justice reforms Organization has called out relevant bodies in the face of negative pre-election rhetoric and violence ahead of the 2027 general elections. Reeling out incidences of toxic statements and actions by public officials especially of the ruling party, the group decried the silence from relevant agencies in the security circle.
Speaking on the series titled; ‘Election Violence – As 2027 beckons’ (part 2) during its weekly podcast, CRIMINAL JUSTICE FOCUS, Ben Abraham, a legal practitioner and the Founder ZAREPHATH AID postulated that the President’s ‘all is fair in politics’ statement opened a flood gate of rhetoric and actions that threatened the political and civic space.
Such statements, he added were infra dignitatem of the President noting that as a father his posture should not be one of desperation and lack of consideration for others. He went on to caution that unless relevant agencies tackle this rising beast, 2027 would be a cauldron that will affect everyone.
