Security agencies have stepped up coordinated operations against bandits, kidnappers and other criminal groups across several parts of the country, recording fresh arrests, the rescue of kidnapped victims and the recovery of weapons during recent raids.
Military and other security authorities said the intensified operations form part of ongoing efforts to restore peace in communities affected by violent crimes, particularly in the North-West, North-Central and parts of the North-East, where criminal activities have continued to pose security challenges.
According to the security agencies, troops and other operatives carried out intelligence-led operations targeting identified criminal hideouts, leading to the arrest of suspected bandits and kidnappers, while several victims held in captivity were successfully rescued.
The authorities also reported the recovery of firearms, ammunition, motorcycles and other items allegedly used by the criminal groups, adding that efforts were continuing to track down fleeing suspects and dismantle their operational networks.
Government officials reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the offensive against criminal elements, stressing that security agencies would continue to work together to protect lives and property and prevent further attacks on communities.
Security experts have welcomed the renewed operations but urged the government to complement military action with improved intelligence gathering, stronger community policing and closer collaboration with local residents to achieve lasting peace.
The latest operations underscore the determination of the security agencies to confront insecurity across the country, with assurances that ongoing offensives will be sustained until criminal groups are dismantled and affected communities can return to normal life.
