The Kano State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a shooting at a wedding ceremony that left one person dead and three others injured.
The incident occurred during the wedding ceremony when one of the suspects allegedly opened fire, causing panic among guests and sending people scrambling for safety.
Police authorities confirmed that one person died from injuries sustained during the shooting, while three others were wounded and taken for medical attention.
The command said its operatives moved quickly after receiving information about the incident and arrested two suspects believed to be connected with the attack.
The circumstances that led to the shooting were still being investigated as of Wednesday. Police investigators were expected to question the suspects and other witnesses to establish what triggered the incident.
The command also said efforts were underway to recover relevant evidence and determine whether other individuals were involved in the attack.
The incident has again raised concerns about the possession and use of firearms at social gatherings, particularly ceremonies where large numbers of people gather.
