The intensity inside the MasterChef Nigeria kitchen reached new heights as the latest Pressure Test ended in another emotional elimination, forcing contestants to fight for survival in a high-stakes culinary showdown.
Following a disappointing Team Challenge, Demilade, Fads, Loye and Favy were placed in the dreaded Black Apron elimination round, where they were tasked with replicating a complex dish created by acclaimed Nigerian chef, Soliat Bada.
The challenge featured an elevated Egusi and Corn Bisque — a modern reinterpretation of a traditional Nigerian dish — designed to test precision, taste memory and technical execution under pressure.
With no recipe, no guidance and no opportunity to ask questions, the contestants relied solely on instinct and culinary judgement to recreate the dish as accurately as possible.
For Demilade, the challenge carried added emotional weight as she entered the kitchen under pressure after captaining the losing Red Team. She openly struggled with self-doubt throughout the task, describing cooking as something driven by emotion and confidence, which she found difficult to maintain under stress.

Although she completed her dish, the judges concluded that her interpretation fell short of expectations, leading to her elimination from the competition and ending her journey on the show.
Meanwhile, Fads focused on precision and flavour memory, describing the task as a strict replication exercise rather than a creative challenge. Her approach paid off as she earned praise from the judges for successfully matching the original dish.
Favy also impressed with flavour accuracy, although she struggled with presentation. Loye, however, emerged as the standout performer of the challenge, delivering what the judges described as his strongest dish so far in the competition.

Judge Chef Eros commended Loye for trusting his instincts and avoiding overthinking in the kitchen, ultimately awarding him the coveted Dish of the Day.
With the competition narrowing, tensions are expected to rise further as the remaining contestants prepare for another high-pressure Black Apron Challenge, where one mistake could end their journey toward becoming Nigeria’s next MasterChef.
The show airs weekly on Sundays at 7pm on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family, with rebroadcasts during the week.
Produced by Primedia Group, the programme is supported by several sponsors including Power Oil, Indomie, Dano Milk, Malta Guinness and Golden Penny Flour.
