Newly capped Super Eagles defender Abdullahi Bewene has emerged as a transfer target for several European clubs following his impressive performances for Nigeria during the recent international window.
The 21-year-old Banik Ostrava defender earned a late call-up to the national team by head coach Eric Chelle and quickly made a strong impression with his displays against Poland and Portugal.
Bewene, who started against Portugal and later came off the bench in another outing, received praise from teammates and observers for his composed performances, dispelling any doubts that his earlier showing was a one-off.
According to his representative, the defender has attracted about six enquiries from clubs in Belgium, while a club in the French top flight has also expressed interest in signing him.
The representative said a decision on his future is expected in the coming days, stressing that any move would prioritise regular playing time to aid his development and help him maintain his place in the Super Eagles squad.

Further reports indicate that LASK, Slavia Prague and FC Basel are also monitoring the defender’s situation.
Bewene’s rapid rise from the Czech league to the Nigerian national team has significantly boosted his profile, making him one of the country’s emerging defensive prospects in Europe.
With growing interest from across the continent, the defender now faces an important career decision as he seeks the next step in his development at club and international level.
