Political activities across Nigeria are gathering momentum as major parties continue consultations, reconciliation efforts and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections. Analysts say the coming months will be crucial in shaping political alliances and determining the strength of the major contenders.
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has maintained that it remains focused on consolidating its structures nationwide, while opposition parties continue discussions aimed at presenting a stronger challenge in the next election.
Political observers believe the wave of consultations, defections and coalition talks reflects the strategic importance of the 2027 contest. Several party leaders have called for unity within their ranks, warning that internal divisions could weaken their electoral prospects.
Analysts say issues such as the economy, insecurity, employment, infrastructure and constitutional reforms are likely to dominate political campaigns as Nigerians evaluate the performance of elected leaders.
